On the 8th September in the Grand Palace hotel the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia in Latvia H.E. Mr. Dušan Krištofik held a reception on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic Slovakia, which is celebrated in the country on the 1st September.
In the beginning of the reception the Ambassador expressed the condolences regarding the tragic event happened in Yaroslavl city in Russia and affected many countries, because the hockey team “Lokomotiv” consisted of many leading players from 11 countries including Slovakia and Latvia. A Minute of silence was announced in the remembrance of all the players.
Constitution’s Day is a National day in the country. On the 31st August 1992 the parliament of the Republic of Slovakia had been discussing the project of the main rule of the country, some corrections were made and on the 1st September there was an official voting on the final version of the Constitution.
H.E. Mr. Dušan Krištofik wished prosperity, good luck, health and welfare to the people of Slovakia and Latvia.
