На вечере в Дипломатическом экономическом клубе 27 октября Томас Кастрел, советник Посольства Бельгии и глава представительства агентства инвестиций и торговли Фландрии рассказал о современных задачах представительства по расширению экономических связей между Фландрией и странами Балтии.

Офис FIT для стран Балтии открыт в мае 2016 года в Вильнюсе.

Фландрия является ведущим регионом в высоко-технологической индустрии, город Антверпен — мировой центр торговли алмазами, высокоразвита химическая промышленность. Большой потенциал региона в образованной и мотивированной рабочей силой, которая также владеет несколькими иностранными языками. активно развита топливо-энергетическая торговля. Водная транспортная сеть река-море позволяет активно развивать схемы логистики.
