**Nikolajs Meževičs** Zinātņu doktors, profesors, Sanktpēterburgas Valsts universitāte

24. oktobrī Diplomātiskais Ekonomikas klubs uzņēma ekonomikas doktoru, Sanktpēterburgas Valsts universitātes Eiropas studiju katedras profesoru N. Meževiču Nikolajs Meževičs stāstīja par šodienas Baltijas jūras austrumu reģiona ekonomisko stāvokli un perspektīvām kontekstā ar sadarbību ar Krieviju, un par esošo ekonomikas attīstības modeļu aspektiem.

Tika pievērsta uzmanība tranzītsadarbībai, ceļu, dzelzceļu un ostu infrastruktūrai, iespējamai sadarbībai enerģētikas nozarē.

N.Meževičs arī atzīmēja lielu nozīmi Baltijas jūru valstu ekonomikā dalību ES. Ja salīdzināt Baltijas valstu iemaksas un līdzfinansējumu no ES fondiem laika posmā no 2000. līdz 2011.g., visveiksmīgākā bilance ir vērojama Lietuvā, kura par katru ES fondos iemaksāto eiro saņēma 4.4 eiro maksājumos no ES fondiem Lietuvai, Latvijai šī proporcija sastāda 3.7 eiro, Igaunijai – 3.4 eiro.

„Šobrīd loģiski ir mūsu kaimiņiem akcentēt uzmanību sadarbībai ar Krieviju, uzticīga klimata izveidei eksistējošo iespēju kontekstā,“ atzīmēja N.Meževičs.

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
