Rīgas biznesa kluba biedri, Krievijas vēstniecība, 2017. gada 10. jūlijā veica tradicionālo ziedu nolikšanas ceremoniju pie pieminekļa bojā gājušiem krievu karavīriem Lūcavsalā, Rīgā 1701. gadā. Ziedu nolikšanas ceremoniju atklāja Vladimirs Solomatins un Jevgenijs Vološins, Rīgas biznesa kluba padomes vadītāji.

Traģisks notikums vietējā vēsturē notika Ziemeļu kara sākumā, kad zviedri, uzvarot saksonus, nolēmu tikt vaļā no krieviem, kas atradās Lūcavsalā, Rīgā bez atbalsta. Zviedru karaspēks, kuru bija vairāk, cerēja uzvarēt, bet viņiem nesanāca.

Pēc ierašanās, Zviedrijas karalis Karls XII ieraudzīja daudz savu bojā gājušo karavīru, bet divesmit krievu kareivju atšaudījās reditē.
Karalis apbrīnoja viņu drosmi un pavēlēja viņus nenogalināt, bet tikai ņemt gūstā.
Pārējie bojā gajušie apglabāti pirmajos brāļu kapos Rīgā.

Rīgas biznesa klubs pirms vairāk nekā desmit gadiem uz saviem līdzekļiem atjaunoja šo pieminekli un kopš tā laika rīko ikgadēju ziedu nolikšanas ceremoniju Lūcavsalā, Rīgā.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
