    Extended Board meeting  

    During the extended Club Board meeting, August 20, questions regarding improvement of the Club’s internal life were discussed, as well as, necessary changes to the Club Status were proposed, current and prospective plans of the Club discussed.

    Board meeting

    According to the previous proposals of the Board and consultations with the Club members, it was decided to establish Club Council – with the goals: to develop main questions of the Club development strategies; more wide representation Club’s interests in different events, including, while solving internal relationships.

    Members of the Club Council:
    P. Baranay – secretary, Embassy of Slovakia, Club President
    A. Butenko – secretary of the Club
    I. Nazaruk – counsellor, Embassy of Belarus
    J. Rekasi – counselor, Embassy of Hungary
    E. Tihonov – counselor, Embassy of Russia, chairperson of the Club Council
    B. Erdem – counselor, Embassy of Turkey, Club vice-president

    Question regarding candidates for the Club membership was discussed.
    It was decided to call for a general Assembly of the Club, which will be held at Gallery Park Hotel and all Club members are invited.

    A meetings plan was proposed, which includes: meetings with the minister of Economics of Latvia, Mr. A.Kampars, vice-major of Riga city Mr. A.Slesers.
    Introduction to the plant Bebris (wood houses production), Lankalni (cattle-breeding warm), meeting with I.Gerchinkov (Dzintars)
    Participation in conferences and exhibitions Riga Food, Energy. Discussion in the Club: „Economic life in Latvia. Actual issues“
    Traditional meetings in the Club with organization of thematic evenings, such as «Story about my Country» – a diplomat will tell about his/her country.

    Counselor of the Hungarian Embassy, Mr. J.Rekasi received Club membership card.
    E. Tihonov presented business handbook of Moscow government for J.Rekasi and B. Erdem.

    Pavol Baranay presented to prof. V.Roldugin a book about coins in Slovakia, in occasion of V. Roldugin birthday.

    Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa.
    Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians.
    We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations.
    Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people.
    Please don't even allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons.
    All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Diplomatic Club for Peace
