The Riga Mark – produced in Latvia
On December 18, 2009, Latvian products under the brand „Riga Mark“ were presented at the Lido center.
This is a joint program of Riga and Moscow city councils with the goal to promote products manufactured in Latvia on Moscow and Russian markets.
Moscow’s government delegation and minister Mr. V.I. Malischkov visited the presentation of the offered Latvian products. The products were presented by the major of Riga Mr. N. Ushakov and vice-major Mr. A. Slesers.
Also, Latvian ministry of agriculture and its minister A. Deglavs actively support the project.
This is not a first visit of Mr. V.I. Malishkov to Riga. In 2000, while visiting Riga Food exhibition he gave a talk for Latvian businessmen where he suggested creating something similar to this project. In the following years Mr. Malishkov he visited the exhibition several times and always raised the idea again and again. His earlier visits were accompanied by owners of major Moscow retailer networks. As it was announced by the participants, exactly in 2010 „the caravan Riga Mark“ will move towards the Russian capital.
