April 9 — 11, 2010: the exhibitions Intertextil, Habitus, Fiesta Expo were held in the international exhibition centre in Riga.
Club Members took part in the official opening ceremony, got acquainted with the exposition.
Within the joint project B2B Matchmaking event, the business meetings were held with the industry entrepreneurs.
The opening ceremony was attended by: BT1 CEO Viesturs Tile, president of the Latvian Association of Light Industry Entreprises (VRUA) Guntis Strazds, Ambassador of Chinese Embassy Cheng Wenju, deputy director of the Entreprises competiveness department Inguna Berke and project manager of the exhibition «Intertextil Balticum» Ilze Avota.

The conference «Innovations in textil industry in Latvia and other countries» took place on 9 April, 2010, where the participants had a possibility to learn about the applied scientific developments in light industry, technology import and export possibilities, the importance of protecting trade marks and samples of designers and the support provided to Latvian profiled companies.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
