2. jūnijā Melngalvju namā Itālijas vēstnieks Latvijā Francesco Puccio rīkoja pieņemšanu par godu Itālijas Republikas valsts svētkiem un 150-ai Itālijas apvienošanas gadadienai.
Vēstnieks sveica svētkos visus klātesošos, novēlēja labklājību Itālijas un Latvijas tautām, sveica jauno Latvijas Prezidentu A.Bērziņu, un novēlēja viņam panākumus šajā atbildīgajā postenī.

Pieņemšana par godu Itālijas Republikas proklamēšanas dienai

Republikas proklamēšanas diena ir vieni no svarīgākajiem valsts svētkiem Itālijā. Itālijas Republika tika dibināta 1946.gada 2.jūnijā. Šajā dienā uz vēlēšanu iecirkņiem atnāca visa Itālija, pirmo reizi vēlēšanu tiesības tika dotas sievietēm, lai atvadītos no monarhijas un pārietu uz republikas pārvaldes formu.
Šie svētki ir saņēmuši nacionālo svētku statusu 2000.gada janvārī, kad prezidents bija parakstījis attiecīgo rīkojumu likuma par Itālijas Nacionālajiem svētkiem ietvaros.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
