Embassy of Uzbekistan in Latvia together with the Baltic International Academy held Nowruz holiday celebrations

As the International Day International Day of Nowruz is celebrated since 2010. The UN General Assembly has cemented March 21 for an international holiday — Day of Nowruz. Nowruz Celebration — New Year holiday at the peoples of Eurasia, it also signifies the first day of spring and the renewal of nature. Over thousands of years, many people celebrate this holiday.

At the event made speeches Ambassador of Uzbekistan Afzal Artikov, Board Member of BMA Valery Nikiforov, the President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences Ojārs Sparitis.

Baltic International Academy students submitted brief essays in connection with the 620th anniversary of the birth of famous Uzbek scientist «Mirzo Ulugbek», «Samarkand — Mirzo Ulugbek homeland», «Nowruz — the sources and modern villiage.»

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
