At the residence of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Latvia Aleksandr Veshnyakov in Jurmala on 10 June 2016 held a reception to celebrate Russia Day.

At the reception, national anthems of Russia and Latvia were performed by the leading soloist of the Latvian National Opera.

The Ambassador of Russia in Latvia Aleksandr VESHNYAKOV congratulated guests on the holiday — Day of Russia, wished to foster understanding and friendly relations, the development of multilateral ties between the two countries, prosperity of the peoples of Russia and Latvia.

Russia day a holiday of freedom, civil peace and good agreement of all people on the basis of law and justice. This holiday is a symbol of national unity and shared responsibility for the present and future of their homeland.

The reception was held in the days of Russian cinema, the participants asked the famous director, producer Igor Ugolnikov, who said that he connected with Latvia, where he lived part of his life and congratulated them on the holiday and wished prosperity and good luck.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
