On May 30, 2017 in Riga, Ambassador of Georgia in Latvia Teimuraz Janjalia held a solemn reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia, which country celebrates on May 26.

The reception was held at celebration hall of House of the Blackheads in Riga.

In 1918 the government of Georgia proclaimed the independence of country. As Latvia and Finland, country will celebrate its centenary anniversary.
This day, May 26 is celebrated in Georgia as the Independence Day. At referendum om March, 1991 was decided to reestablish the governmental independence of Georgia and on April 9, 1991 the Supreme Council of Republic accepted the Act of governmental independence reestablishment.

Ambassador of Georgia Teimuraz Janjalia congratulated guests in his speech and wished well-being and prosperity to nations of Georgia and Latvia.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
