Maslenitsa is an ancient folk festival, farewell of winter and waiting for spring, on which there are many different customs. In the year of 2018, the Maslenitsa holiday ended on February 18.

Members of the Diplomatic Economic Club took part in the celebration, organized for the residents of Jurmala in the territory of the sanatorium Jantarnij Bereg, where the main attribute mood: a concert folklore program, the conquest of a 6-meter column with valuable prizes, a delicatessen fair, comic battles, round dances and burning of a stuffed pancake week.

Such folk festivals are accompanied primarily by pancakes with different fillings and forms, with caviar, honey, sour cream and jam, kalachi and gingerbread, of course tea from a samovar.

Pancakes remind of the sun, which gradually lengthens the light day.
