Belarus and Latvia-a quarter century of collaboration
Members of the diplomatic Economic Club April 10 attended the opening of a photo exhibition, organised by the Embassy of Belarus in Latvia-25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Belarus.
Photo exhibition opened at the National Library of Latvia (LNB), at the opening ceremony, statements were made by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Andrey Pildegovich, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belarus Oleg Kravchenko, Ambassador of the Republic Belarus M. Dolgopolova, Director of LNB A. Wilkes, Director of the National Library of Belarus R. Motulskiy. In the presentations, it was noted how intensively develop inter-agency contacts through various ministries and organisations.
The photo exhibition section «Belarus today» on the modern development of the Republic, as well as photographs and documents on the development of good-neighbourly mutually beneficial trade and economic and cultural relations between the two countries over a quarter of a century.
The Latvian National Library received a donation from the National Library of Belarus with a copy of the facsimile edition of the first book of the Belarusian first printer Frantsysk Skaryna.
